FF 2012 Feature & Follow #91

Hello and a happy Feature§&Follow friday everyone!
Today's question is:
Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

My answer: No, actually I haven't and I can't see why I would to be honest. Of course, if there is a big controversy around a certain book I'm most likely going to read it, but only because someone did NOT like the book...I don't think so...I would of course read a book although it has gotten a bad review if I wanted to read it anyway-what about you?

  1. I always take bad reviews with a grain of salt....

  2. I think you're right; controversy and bad reviews are different things so when there's controversy about the book themes/author it usually makes me want to read it but bad reviews alone don't at all!

  4. I agree with your answer. I'm one of those that would attempt to borrow it from the library so that if it truly did stink to high heaven, I could just bring it back!

  5. My thoughts exactly!! I'm not going to pay for something I may or may not like. But, at the same time, just because everybody else on the face of the planet LOVES it doesn't mean I will too. It's always best to read a chapter or two before buying!
Thanks for stopping by, I returned the follower through RSS feed :)

  6. Same! If someone gives it a bad review, why would I read it? Thanks for stopping by my FF :)

    1. I often read books because of negative reviews, especially because I don't agree with most reviewers anyway. It's like.. everything they love, I hate. So I hope that the reverse is true, as well: Everything they hate, I love. Unfortuantely most of the times it's like.. everything they hate, and everything they love.. I hate. XD
