So, a few days ago as I was flipping through the catalog of my school library it got me thinking of one question: do international bloggers review books in English that they haven't read in English?
The thing is my library does have a shelf with English books. There are like...seven of them. And they're all adult books that I'm not a bit interested in.
Then, there are a few shelves of really great YA books. As an example, they have the whole Percy Jackson Series and the Kane Chronicles there, but also Eragon and a few others.
I'm pretty sure I won't buy myself those books in their UK/US versions anytime soon, so it'd be convenient if I could borrow them in german from my library and review them in English on my blog. I could, of course, only read them and not review them, but that would mean that I'd spend hours reading those really heavy books and I won't have enough content for my blog.
Basically, what I wanted to know is how other international bloggers do it. Do you borrow books from your library and review them even though they weren't the English versions? Or do you just buy all the books you review in English? And to you US/UK/Australia etc. people - would it bother you reading a review like that?
Because I love reading all those books in their English version, because I feel like it's always nicer reading the original book than a translation, but I'm also tempted to try the books my library has to offer.
So-what do you think? If you want to, leave a comment below!
Happy Sunday everyone :)
