This week's question:
What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?
Can I choose Hush Hush again? No? Okay, I'll admit it does get boring...I guess City of Bones was like that for me. Everyone was so hyped up about Cassandra Clare but the book actually didn't impress me AS much. I've read the rest of the series now, though. And I totally get it. Like totally, totally get it. By now I'd buy and read everything by Cassandra Clare.
I haven't read either of those lol - ah well!

While I think you should read The Mortal Instruments Series - it turns out to be amazing - I can't say I'd recommend trying Hush Huush...
DeleteI kind of enjoyed the Hush Hush series. But I don't take offense! I am sure my post will wag a few tongues with my second choice. But the second series I do agree with you on. Never read it, because it just didn't seem to appeal to me. It seems to be another series people love or hate. Shocked a movie is coming out of it though!

I did come to love The Mortal Instruments SEries eventually - but only around book 3 and 4 so it took me a WHILE :) Hush Hush just felt too much like a cliche for me. But now that everyone seems to be talking about Finale (and I'll admit - the covers are just too pretty!) I might continue the series...
DeleteI personally really liked Hush Hush but a friend of mine who read it a while ago and enjoyed it, recently just read it again and found herself not liking it as much anymore. As for City of Bones I totally loved it, although at certain points the story gets kind of slow.

Mhm...I'm not a big fan of Paranormal Romance in general so I guess that's why I didn't like HUsh Hush...
DeleteI love city of bones. So said to hear you didn't entirely like it.New follower! :)

Now that I'm really into the story and the characters I love the series! Can't wait for the mext book and I need to start The Infernal Devices :)
DeleteI haven't read any of Cassandra Clare's work (which, from what I hear, I am really missing out). I totally understand how sometimes one book in a series just kind of 'flops', even if the rest are good ('Chamber of Secrets', anyone?)

Can't agree with Chamber of secrets...but only because I kind of have a problem admitting JK Rowling after all is human. I just love her books too much to critisize :)
DeleteI've only ever read the first Cassandra Clare book, and haven't been able to pick up the rest of them yet. I enjoyed the first one, although didn't see what the hype was about either, until the end when I thought they were going to do something really awesome and different as far as a YA romance was concerned... and then I got a spoiler and found out later books revoked it... and I just haven't been able to pick it back up again!
ReplyDeleteI've heard friends of mine say they were greatly disappointed in Hush, hush too... I've heard it often enough that I gave away the copy of it that I had, LOL!

It's so weird how some people love Hush Hush and other hate it with a passion... :)
DeleteI agree! I loved the first book but I wasn't as obsessed with it as everyone else was. Old follower :D
ReplyDeleteI do think especially the last two books in the series were really good!
DeleteI didn't really care for Hush, Hush. I thought that the plot jumped around quite a bit, and I wasn't crazy about the characters, either.

The exact same way I felt about the book. Couldn't have summed it up better :)
