1) Read more books I want to read. (NOT jump on every hyped up bankwagon!)
2) Make time for reading (like...every day)
3) Read more adult books.
4) Finish the series and trilogies I started.
5) Write reviews as right away as possible.
6) Keep the blog up to date and make time for writing unique and good quality posts.
7) Leave more comments on other blogs.
8) Go on Twitter more.
9) Go on Goodreads more (seriously, I'm missing out on all the boooks!!!)
10) Talk about my love of books more.
This last one is the only one I want/ need to explain a bit: ever since reading Fangirl, I realized I can be a VERY bland companion, because I won't ever talk about myself. I will talk about Uni, sports, celebrities etc. but when someone asks me something about myself I will ALWAYS give the shortest answer possible. So, or the new year, I hope that I can share of my real, personal interests with others more instead of always feeling stupid for loving books (okay, obsessing about books...)
What are your goals for 2014? And which lessons have you learned from 2013???
Never feel bad for loving or obsessing over books!! I do know how you feel, however. I am very thankful that there are people on the internet that share in my book obsession and that I have them to talk to when I need to fangirl. There's no one in real life that I know that like to read what I read. Thank goodness for the internet!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list of resolutions! I share a lot of the same with you!
Thank you!! I feel like a lot of people have the same kinds of resolutions this year, very much focused on getting back to the essentials of reading..reading more, but also reading more of what we really like to read!
DeleteHey now, you're among friends who are obsessive about books! ;) Really, we're all blogging about them because we kind of have a crazy love obsession with them. Blogging is a way to express ourselves about what we're passionate about. And as book bloggers we are passionate about books. So you're not crazy! You, me, and the rest of us bloggers are all totally normal! It's those other people that don't LOVE to read and are obsessed with what they read that are the crazy ones! So not normal! ;)
ReplyDeleteI find that I don't talk a whole lot about myself either on my blog. But I do share some things about myself. Like how I am struggling to be an author. I have one book done, but have yet to get my game back together to write my second one. Also, it keeps bugging me about which direction to take it in. Really annoying sometimes...hence why I keep reading and being a "bad" writer.
Good luck with your resolutions! And remember, we're normal with our crazy obsession about books! The "others" are not quite so normal. ;)
Here's my Tuesday post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
But if you already finished a novel that is AMAZING!! That means that you can do it, because - duh! - you've done it before!!! Haha, I finished my first in this year's NaNo, but...well, there will be a lot of editing to do seeing as how you literally just throw up 50000 words in a month :) Good luck with your goals!!!
DeleteGreat goals! You can totally do it :) GR is really addicting, so once you start it it'll be hard to stop! And so many great book discussions >.<
ReplyDeleteHaha, then maybe I should NOT get into GR, because I really, really, really spend too much time procrastinating on the Internet anyway :) If Im gonna spend as much time on GR as I spend on Facebook, I better drop out of Uni :D Haha, jk! I should just get my time management figured out!
Delete#2 really resonates with me. I'm fine reading on the weekends, but I'd like to find more time during the week to read too.
ReplyDeleteYup, during the week reading makes SUCH a difference! Also: it lets you stay in the reading mood during the week which is something I really like!
DeleteYeah I go after popular books myself and sometimes end up being disappointed. I decided to read more of what fancies me at the moment, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I can't even count all the books I picked up only because of the hype...I really try to stop doing that, but every time someone gets really excited about a book I think if everyone else likes it - it must totally be a book for me!! :) Ahh, decisions, decisions...
DeleteA lot of your list mirrors mine! When I first started blogging, I'd blog about random stuff in addition to book reviews. I really miss that, so I'm determined to talk more about myself this year!
ReplyDeletegood luck with your goals this year!
Yeah, I think putting some more personal stuff in makes the blog more unique. After all, there are so many reviews on the books that I read already and then there's memes that everyone does and discussions that have been done before...it's hard to come up with unique content for the blog!
DeleteThose sound like awesome goals! I have a few myself this year, and I hope I'm able to keep them :)
ReplyDeleteNinja Girl
Thank you! I hope you can accomplish all of yours, too!
DeleteOoh, we share some goals! I feel like I tend to go for popular/hyped book a lot as well. Reading more books you WANT to read is a brilliant goal! And yes, you should definitely go on goodreads more! It's a fantastic way to discover new books :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the goals/resolutions! :D
Thanks! I mean, on the one hand, I really like the hype because it's a huge phase of fangirling that I get to be part of! But on the other hand, it happens way too often that I end up disappointed with the book I read...
DeleteGood luck with your resolutions, too!
