Bout of Books 9.0 - The Goals

Bout of Books

If you've been following my blog for a while, I always go completely crazy before a Bout of Books!
It is the first bookish event I ever participated in (four weeks into my first year of blogging) and it is really near and dear to my heart! Also, it is just the BEST one! So many cool challenges, people, bloggers, youtubers - and have I mentioned the awesome Twitter Chats???

The beginning of the new year and my love for BoB both make me really ambitious for this Read-a-thon! And while I do want to finish many books, my main goal for this is to just enjoy the experience. It's my last week of winter break, I have a lot of studying to do and I won't expect reading myracles.

Having said that, here is my list of goals:
  •  comment on at least 10 blogs a day, start following a lot of them and just in general be very active in the community (includes Twitter, Goodreads, ...)
  • participate in two out of three Twitter Chats
  • participate in every Challenge, every day

As for the reading part:

Splintered (Splintered, #1)Enders (Starters, #2)Wild Cards (Wild Cards, #1)

Like I did in my very first Bout of Books, I decided to read a bit of variety this time again :)
So, for Fantasy we have Splintered by A. G. Howard, Dystopia/Sci-Fi is represented by Enders by Lissa Price, for Historical Fiction I have Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys and for my favorite, contemporary: Paper Towns and An Abundance of Katherines by John Green as well as Wildcards by  Simone Elkeless.

I am fully aware this is six instead of five books (or...uh..I am aware now, after I counted three times...)
Just in case I do finish five and still have time, I'll move on to the "bonus" book :D

What do you think of these books? Have you read any of them? And what are your goals for Bout of Books 9.0?

  2. I like your main goal, having fun and just reading what you can is always a good idea. I used to try hard to read and ended up burned out after, so now I just relax and take my time. :)
My goal for this week is 2 books and lots of blog commenting.
I haven't read any of the books you have there yet, though a couple are on my shelves. I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

Ooh, lots of great books on your TBR! Splintered is amazing so I'd definitely recommend that one :)
